Fresh Prints: Bringing a piece of Italy to you

Andrew Hall, the creative talent behind the posters, has worked for several well-known design firms, ranging from Conran to Andrew Martin and now Arte. When we commissioned Andrew to create the prints, he wanted to choose recognisable scenes that would evoke a sense of nostalgia and tell a story. Once he selected the scene he wanted to work from, the first step was to hand-draw the image onto a wire frame in pen before digitally rendering each one. He then selected an appropriate colour palette, along with the finishing touches, to give each scene a distinctive feel.

Each print portrays an iconic scene and has been carefully designed to bring the feel of the place to life, from the breath-taking countryside of rural Tuscany and the cliffside villages along the Amalfi coast, to the whitewashed trulli in Puglia and Venice’s St Mark’s Basilica.
